Two Players with the Highest Strike Rates in IPL History

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 is back in India after being held in UAE last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Board of control for cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the dates and venues for the 52 matches that will be played between April 9 and May 30. The tournament opener will be played between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Chennai. 3-times champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will face 2020 finalist Delhi Capitals (DC) on April 10 in Mumbai.

IPL is known for its power plays and twists and turns. In the 20 overs that the teams get, we can see all kinds of the destruction of the batsmen as well as the bowlers and because of this, the tournament has made it to one of the most-watched Cricket tournaments in the entire world. We have seen many players in the past seasons of IPL who destroyed bowlers and created chaos in the short period of being on the ground. Players who have consistently created records as such are rare. These players are always a threat to the opposition and as long as they are still present in the team, the match can never be over.

We made a list of such players and here are the top ones.

· Andre RUSSELL:

Andre Russel is a Jamaican professional cricketer and plays internationally for the West Indies and for Jamaica in West Indian domestic cricket as an all-rounder. He has played in more than 300 twenty20 matches for a range of sides in the league throughout the world.

Russell scored a century in a record 40 balls in the 2018 Caribbean Premier League and a hat-trick in the same match, becoming the second player to take a hat-trick and score a century in the same Twenty20 match.

Andre Russell was bought by Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) during the 2012 auction and later picked by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 2014 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. He is an integral part of KKR from then onwards and known for taking wickets in death overs while his hitting skills helped KKR win matches in crunch situations. In 64 matches, he has scored 1400 runs at an average of 33.33 with a strike rate of 186.41 and his highest individual score in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is 88 runs. Be it in run-chases or setting a big total on the board, Andre Russell has been the trump card for KKR.

· Hardik Pandya:

Hardik Himanshu Pandya is an Indian international cricketer who plays for Baroda in domestic cricket and Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is an all-rounder who bats right-handed and bowls right-arm fast-medium.

Hardik Pandya didn’t bowl in the Indian Premier League (IPL) last year, as Mumbai Indians used him as a pure batsman. The move worked for the franchise, with Pandya scoring 281 runs at a strike rate of 178.98.
